GENERAL DESCRIPTION
These are the blendshapes I developed for the Reporter character featured in EA's title, Madden NFL 24. The blendshapes are based on FACS. Typically, we base the blendshapes on a series of reference scans and images from the actor, however the performance actor and face actor were two different people.
Instead, I had to use videos of the actor's performance as reference for the blendshapes. This ensures that the blendshapes develop will match how the performance actor speaks. Admittedly, it's very interesting applying someone's facial movements to another person's face. A few shape required a more "generic" approach to work efficiently with the rig.
